Overview:

The Wing is looking for a Copywriter to develop compelling short and long-form copy for all consumer-facing materials–emails, signage, web copy, social taglines, and more. This is a highly collaborative position that will play an exciting role in refining The Wing’s brand voice and ensuring consistency as we scale for the future.

About You:

  • Are you a strategic and creative thinker who has a love and appreciation for words?
  • Are you a natural storyteller who has a knack for creating engaging content?
  • Do you take pride in your meticulous proofreading and copyediting skills?

What you’ll do:

  • Write, Write, Write! Take on short and long form writing—brand manifestos, campaigns, emails, social taglines, signage, web copy, internal communications, and much, much more.
  • Champion The Wing’s Voice: Act as the gatekeeper of The Wing’s verbal identity, including reviewing, proof-reading and editing all brand copy.
  • Evolve Brand Guidelines: Partner with The Wing’s Creative Director to contribute to and evolve the brand style guide, ensuring a consistent, mature, and ownable voice.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Partners: Collaborate with cross-functional team members and external agencies on copy projects big and small.
  • Innovate and Streamline: Drive the planning, execution, and project management of all in house copy. Implement and execute editing processes to ensure requests are clear, consistent, and aligned with the original brief.
  • Translate Consumer Insights: Gain a deep understanding of the member and The Wing’s Membership base, product offering and vision. Translate key insights into compelling messages and test, learn, and iterate.
  • Think Outside of the Box: Keep your finger on the pulse of what is happening in culture and make proactive recommendations about how The Wing can relevantly participate in the conversation.

Who you are:

  • A superb writer with 2–3 years of professional writing experience in a consumer copywriting role
  • An excellent grammarian with laser-focused attention to detail
  • A strong collaborator and communicator who’s comfortable working with people of all skill sets and specialties
  • A creative thinker with a sense of humor
  • A quick learner with a passion for gaining a deep understanding of our product and our members

Nice to have but not required:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience contributing to or developing brand guidelines and verbal identity
  • Familiarity with a project management system to help with deadlines and task prioritization
