IFAD Agrihub Nigeria Food Processing & Packaging Training 2022

Deadline: August 8, 2022

The 2022 IFAD Agrihub Nigeria Food Processing & Packaging Training is now accepting applications. The program includes networking opportunities and mentoring for young people in addition to a comprehensive curriculum on food handling, processing, and packaging.

The Agrihub Nigeria project, run by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), aims to give young unemployed Nigerians and aspiring agripreneurs the skills they need to launch their own enterprises or obtain employment in the agricultural industry. Through a number of its initiatives, the project aims to improve young people’s quality of life in the rural economy. Agrihub seeks to employ an inclusive strategy that gives people with less formal education opportunities.

To prevent food wastage, youth must be trained in postharvest food handling, processing, and packaging, which is one of the mandates of the IFAD Agrihub Nigeria project. This training is in collaboration with Cato Food, Iwo, Osun State. The program includes classroom teaching, hands-on learning in the field, and internships that can lead to employment opportunities or starting their own food-processing factory.
